Some customers mention that the pricing is on par with other shops, which can be a bit steep, especially for regulars. However, many consider the quality justifies the cost, making it a worthwhile splurge.
A few reviews touch on the inconsistency with chip thickness occasionally, suggesting that some batches can appear whiter than expected. This seems to not be a common issue, but it has caught a few eyes.
A minor concern mentioned is the occasional wait time during peak hours. However, this speaks more to Nemo's popularity than any real flaw in service.
I couldn't believe how big the piece of cod was! I can always finish a portion from any other chip shop I've been to, but this piece had me beaten! Brilliant value for money. The chips were cooked well and the peas and curry sauce were lovely. Always a friendly greeting. Clean and tidy premises.
Just had large cod, chips and mushy peas from here ‘not my first time ordering from here’, and have to say was the flakiest cod, perfect batter, top tier chips (huge portion too) and the mushy peas were spot on with consistency. All in all a 10/10 for the owners 😎😎
Our local chip shop has closed down and I really wanted to have a decent fish & chips. I looked on google maps and saw a few in the area. One I have tried and wasn't too impressed, another offers a carvery on top which I don't think would be good (judgement call). I saw Nemo's and the good reviews. It was only a 6 or 7 minute drive so I took the plunge. They take card and I paid £12 for Fish, chips and curry sauce. Yes, these are the prices now across the industry. I took them home in a bag and my was I in for a treat. The fish was golden and crispy. It tasted amazing and not very greasy at all. The chips tasted of potato and not just fryer fat. They looked a bit whiter than normal but that didn't matter. The curry sauce was as expected, proper chip shop style and I splattered it all over. Portion wise, the fish was very big for a normal fish and there were so many chips, I couldn't eat them all. Brilliant little gem and would return. I noticed there are GF options which is rare. When my mother in law is in town, we know where we are going!
Just received a cold call pretending to be from 3 and the number comes up as Nemos Fish Bar. I've left a five star review as I don't want the owner to get negative reviews. If the owner is Indian and making money on the side scamming please stop. If you have a neighbour who is an Indian then I'm guessing he's tapped I to your phone line and your business about to get a whole lot of angry customers and some placing fake orders. Just a heads up and not a threat.
The best fish and chips I've had for a long time. Not my local, but I'd go out my way to come here again. :-)
Always good fish and chips from here! Fish is flaky and tasty, and the batter is really good. Chips great too!
Nice food sometimes there's a bit of a wait as cooked to order but the fish was very nice and not dry chips are very good as well
